My Coaching Story
Part 1 ||
My journey to coaching begins in college twenty five years ago, when “community over competition” did not exist.
I was photographing portraits and landscapes on film with my Nikon F3, and developing prints in a darkroom. I had just purchased my first digital camera around that same time, a Canon 10D. I was gaining experience and making a few bucks in college taking photos of events and family portraits at local parks and beaches.
It was a super stressful time getting my business started.
I had wanted nothing more than more help and mentorship, but besides my mediocre art photography professors in school, I felt like I was alone. I would walk the next 15 years feeling pretty alone on this path, figuring things out solo along the way (with the exception of leaning on some great friends) but still mastering my craft. I spent way too much time reinventing the wheel, and myself.
Part 2 ||
The part about, desperately wanting to talk with more people who knew what I was going through.
I can't count the amount of times in the last two decades I've talked the ears off my partner's and best friends about my business hurdles and pivots! There came a time somewhere around 2012 that my desire to take control of my business, lift that decision making off of them, and lean on people that really know how to help us move the needle in our industry!
I've been coached personally and professionally, and that process led me here. It was during those coaching calls with photography consultants, as they helped talk me through hurdles in my photography business, when I realized I would be really good at their job, maybe even better! I loved what they were doing to try and help me succeed. I wanted to mentor and coach! I wanted to help others move the needle!
Thank you for being here! Your trust in me and this process will help you move the success needle!
